Multiple buses arrive just around the corner of the premises. Get off at the bus stop called 'Boschstraat/Maagdendries'. From the Central station of Maastricht the drive will take about 6 minutes. If you arrive by bike, there are many bike racks around the building to stall your bike. Arriving by car? You can park your car at the Sphinx parking lot next to the building. The parking lot address is: 'Sphinxterrein', Frontensingel, 6211 SC Maastricht.

Desirée is a sun child who lives for warmth, health, and happiness. Born in the Netherlands, this daydreaming creative type loves to travel and make beautiful memories along the way. Sunshine, amore and being around positive and beautifully spirited souls makes her the happiest. She is one very happy hippie.
She took one of her very first yoga classes in 2009, at her local gym. Even though the class wasn't exactly as she had imagined, it still ignited a spark in her, and in her continuous journey on the path of yoga. She moved to Italy and took yoga classes there as well. These allowed her to clear her mind and discover herself and her own path in life. When she moved back to the Netherlands, she still continued to take yoga classes here and there, until she found hot yoga and Bikram yoga, and she became a more serious practitioner. Desirée then switched to a different yoga school, and took every single class they offered, trying to discover which type of yoga was her favorite. As it turned out this would be Ashtanga yoga. She has been practicing daily, six days a week, ever since. And that is when she decided to not only be a student of yoga, but to also become a teacher of yoga.
She has taken multiple classes and workshops with Kino MacGregor and Tim Feldmann, and has also been taking classes with Ashtanga legends like David Swenson, Sharathji Jois, Laruga Glaser, and Petri Räisänen.
During this 75 minute guided class you will be led through the Ashtanga Half Primary Series, guiding you up to Navasana’s half way point of the sequence. The class consists out of a fixed series of postures, and Desirée will count and talk you through the practice. We focus on increasing strength, flexibility, and a tranquil state of mind. Expect to get sweaty, both because of the physical practice and a focus on the free breathing technique with sound that heats up the body.
Ashtanga Led Classes are open to students of any level, although a medium level of physical endurance is recommended.
This 60 minute class is a nice flow that is accessible for everyone. We take on different postures during this class, with many possible variations of the same posture, making sure everyone can enjoy.
Between every pose we connect the postures with a flow of movements, so the entire sequence becomes one enjoyable flow. We move on the rhythm of the breath, using every inhalation and exhalation in perfect harmony with the movements.
This 60 minute Yin Yoga class has a focus on calming the mind and body.
It is a slow paced, restorative practice that offers stillness and relaxation. It is the opposite of the styles of yoga that are know as “yang” styles, which are the more fast-paced styles like Vinyasa and Ashtanga.
During Yin Yoga classes we practice restorative poses that we hold for a couple of minutes to completely relax.
During this 60 minute class we create a safe space, a non-judgemental space for healing. This is a mindful, restorative yin yoga practice where we hold poses for a longer time to really be with and explore sensations that come up. During this practice we use props like yoga blocks, bolsters, and pillows.
We incorporate gentle flows (vinyasas) during class and you are invited to take time for intuitive movement. This class is all about your own experience, feeling what’s right for you and your body. Yoga is a somatic, body-based approach to healing.
The Trauma-Conscious Yoga classes are taught 1:1. I teach the class either in English or Dutch. Feel free to contact me if you want to know more about this class.
During our Pregnancy (Prenatal) Yoga classes we work with specific asanas (poses), pranaya-ma (breathing techniques), and relaxation techniques. The class is focused on a combination of dynamic and relaxing move-ments, and is suitable for every stage of pregnancy. Yoga brings calmness, strength & balance.
Desirée will help you get into the postures safely by giving both verbal and hands-on assists. You deserve to enjoy this beautiful time while you are creating new life.
