What is Ashtanga Yoga?

In Ashtanga Yoga we synochorinise breath with movement (vinyasas), and there is a large focus on the "Tristana" method. This method consists of three parts: correct breathing by using a free breathing technique based on the Ujjayi breath, focusing on precise gazing points, called dristi, and yoga postures, called asanas, while using the bandhas (energy locks).​

Cultivate awareness and a deeper understanding of body, mind, and breath as a result from the practice.

Our Mysore and Ashtanga Led Classes are open to students of any level, although a medium level of physical endurance is recommended. Remember to bring a yoga mat!

MYSORE STYLE

During the Mysore style classes, you practice the part of the Ashtanga Yoga method that you know, at your own tempo. The sequence is always the same, and your practice develops over time. We are there to assist you and to help you in your individual practice.

 

Seasoned practitioners and beginners are all welcome! If you are a beginner you can expect to come in and learn the beginning postures and continue to build on that. Come and deepen your practice and experience the Mysore Magic for yourself. 

Our Mysore Classes are open to students of any level, as the postures are taught and introduced one at a time. You progress through the practice to build endurance and strength. 

Requirement for beginners: Showing up at least 3 times a week to build stamina for your practice. 

ASHTANGA GUIDED

In this guided class you will practice the either part of or the entire Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga., also known as Yoga Chikitsa. The teacher will count and talk you through the practice. We focus on increasing strength, flexibility, and a tranquil state of mind. Expect to get sweaty, both because of the physical practice and a focus on the free breathing technique with sound that heats up the body. ​

YOGA CLUB (ONLINE)

Join our wonderful Yoga CLUB for weekly LIVE online yoga classes, every Wednesday evening, including a weekly community oracle card pull, access to the video archives, a healthy recipe every month, and exclusive guided meditations. Class styles vary from Ashtanga Led classes to Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa, Flow & Restore, and special Moon Day events.

YOGA DURING & AFTER PREGNANCY

Feel welcome in the Mysore classes during your pregnancy. The teacher is a certified prenatal and postnatal teacher. You can also join us for a private class, tailored to your needs.
